$20 minimum deposit casinos in Canada: deposit to payout — illustration summarising this guide: $20 compared with smaller deposits; From $20 in to money out: the checks; Interac and a $20 deposit; The wagering maths on $20

Short answer: a $20 minimum deposit casino in Canada gives you more room than a $1 or $5 deposit, and may be enough to reach a casino's minimum withdrawal. Whether that $20, or what it turns into, comes back out depends on the minimum withdrawal, verification, your payment method and any bonus attached. Check them in that order.

$20 compared with smaller deposits

At $1 or $5, a flat fee or a high minimum withdrawal can swallow the whole deposit. At $20 the same checks apply — and so does the pull to top up. Decide in advance whether $20 is a one-off or a weekly budget, and set a matching deposit limit. Smaller budgets: $1 deposit and $5 deposit casinos.

From $20 in to money out: the checks

  • Minimum withdrawal for the method you'll use. Compare it with $20 before you pay in.
  • Verification. At regulated Ontario sites you may withdraw only after the appropriate verifications, to an account you legally hold. Upload documents before your first request.
  • Same-method rule. Terms can require payouts to go back to the deposit method where possible — check that the method you deposit with can also receive payouts.
  • Fees. Ontario sites must disclose all account fees before you deposit or withdraw; elsewhere, look for them in the terms.
  • Withdrawal rules and restrictions. Ontario sites must state these clearly and specifically. If a site's terms don't, treat that as a warning.
  • Dormant accounts. In Ontario, you must be able to recover a balance left in a dormant or deactivated account. Elsewhere, look for inactivity fees.

Interac and a $20 deposit

Interac e-Transfer moves money from your bank account using an email address or mobile number. Two sets of limits apply: the casino's minimum and maximum, and your own bank's — Interac says each financial institution sets its own sending limits, and some charge a fee to cancel a transfer. Interac also advises sending transfers only to parties you know and trust: check that the recipient matches the casino you signed up with. Method details: Interac e-Transfer casinos.

The wagering maths on $20

We don't promote offers, and Ontario bans public advertising of bonuses — but if a $20 deposit comes with one, work out the cost first. An illustration using the house advantage that Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries' Informed Gambling site gives for slots (around 10%):

Wagering requirement on $20Total you must betAverage long-run cost at ~10%
10×$200about $20
30×$600about $60
40×$800about $80

These are illustrations, not any casino's terms. Results in a single session vary, but the expected cost grows with every dollar wagered. Check which games count towards wagering and whether there's a maximum cash-out on bonus winnings. Try your own numbers in the wagering calculator.

On regulated Ontario sites, an offer must show all its material conditions when first presented and can't be called "free" unless it is.

Track what happens to the $20

Regulated Ontario sites must give you access to your deposit and withdrawal history, your current balance, and the total won or lost for a session or period. For slots, the session must clearly display your net position, and you must have a way to track the passage of time. Elsewhere, check whether your account shows the same before you deposit — if you can't see your own history, you can't tell what $20 actually cost.

Province check for $20 deposits

In Ontario, use only sites on iGaming Ontario's list — offshore sites are not registered there. In Alberta, look for the AiGC logo; registered operators keep player funds in dedicated Canadian trust accounts. Elsewhere, the legal option is your provincial site, and Manitoba's regulator warns that a site not regulated in Manitoba doesn't have to follow Manitoba's rules — including on paying out. See the Canada hub for the province-by-province map.

We haven’t published a comparison for this page yet. A casino is listed only after we have its cashier and withdrawal terms with a source link and a check date. Until then, this page explains what to check yourself. How listing works

Each value is the operator's stated figure for that payment method, with a source link and the date we checked; "Not stated" means the operator doesn't publish it. For what slows a payout once you request it, see fastest withdrawal casinos; for game returns, see best payout casinos.

$20 deposit: Canadian FAQ

Is $20 enough to withdraw winnings?

It depends on the casino's minimum withdrawal for your payment method, which can differ from the minimum deposit. Check both in the cashier before you pay in, along with any withdrawal fee. Our table shows each operator's stated minimums per method, with a source and date.

What happens to a bonus on a $20 deposit?

Bonus terms can require bonus money to be wagered a stated number of times before you can withdraw it. As an illustration, a 30× requirement on $20 means $600 of bets; with a house advantage of around 10% on slots, the average long-run cost of $600 wagered is about $60 — three times the deposit. Read the terms, or use our wagering calculator.

Can I deposit $20 by Interac e-Transfer?

If the casino accepts it, the casino sets its own minimum, and your bank or credit union sets its own sending limits — Interac says each financial institution sets their own. Check the cashier for the casino's minimum and your bank's limit before sending.

What if I leave $20 in an account I don't use?

At regulated Ontario sites, operators must make reasonable efforts to tell you about funds in a dormant account, and you must be able to recover the balance owed to you. Elsewhere, check the casino's dormant-account and inactivity-fee terms — or withdraw the balance before you stop playing.
